I run "rkill" then malwarebytes and ESET av scan (all of our customers use ESET).
Running rkill initially stops alot of issues where viruses/malware will stop anit malware scans from running.
Maybe more important is actually knowing what your dealing with. Once a piece of malware is identified its much easier to work with. Look through the task manager or a task manger like program (procexp64.exe) for unusual items. Also skim the C drive for unusuals. Often times if you can pinpoint the malware there is a removal tool geared towards it.
